The mainstream chat app WhatsApp, which is utilized by more than 1.5 billion individuals month to month, has a considerable measure of information to manage as talks, pictures, recordings etc which obviously consumes a lot of data. Thus it works with Google to offer backups.

Though Google has agreed to start letting WhatsApp users backup their accounts without it taking up any of their 15GB free data allowance.

This recent wave of backups could be very disastrous to WhatsApp users who haven't backed up their accounts before November 12 as they stand the chance of loosing it all.

The new deal between WhatsApp and Google means that all chats, pictures, videos and audio files will be backed up without costing Google Drive space(which is actually 15GB,  unless upgraded).

Accounts that have not been backed up  over a year stand a chance of loosing all chat data unless it's backed up before 12 November.

WhatsApp users should backup their accounts data manually so as to be safe from loosing important data.

Here's how to backup your WhatsApp account.

First of all make sure you have Google Drive on your phone.

Then go to your WhatsApp app click on Menu > Settings > Chats then Chat backup.
Select Back Up and you will automatically see everything getting backed up to Google Drive.

If it's not backing up then you have to use a Wi-Fi since most WhatsApp accounts are set to only backup with Wi-Fi, or you can try switching of background data restrictions (I.E if you switched it's on).
