According to  Gartner(analyst giant), who broadcast the revelation in its latest second quarter (Q2) smartphone sales report which was released on Tuesday.

Huawei took Apple's silver medal, after seeing a massive growth of almost 40 percent in Q2 2018, keeping apple third place in the world's smartphone leaderboard.

Research director at Gartner, Anshul Gupta , said the purpose behind the move in initiative is that Huawei "continues to bring innovative features into its smart phones" and grow its gadget portfolio to cover bigger shopper sections.

"Its investment into channels, brand building and positioning of the Honor devices helped drive sales. Huawei is shipping its Honor smart phones into 70 markets worldwide and is emerging as Huawei’s key growth driver," Gupta said.

While Apple got elbowed down the leaderboard, despite everything it saw development in the quarter, yet a modest one percent.

This moderate development, Gupta stated, is down to thrashing interest for the iPhone X , which he said backed off considerably sooner than when the firm presented other new models in earlier years.

"Growing competition from Chinese brands and consumers’ greater expectations for phone value is putting immense pressure on Apple to deliver enhanced value on their premium iPhones to foster growth," added Gupta.

The best spot is still anchored by South Korean phone producer Samsung, who kept up the main spot in Q2 in spite of seeing a decrease of offers of just shy of 13 percent.

Gartner trusts this is on account of Samsung faces moderating worldwide cell phone request and regularly developing rivalry from Chinese makers, for example, Huawei.

"The slowing demand for its flagship smart phones left Samsung with lower profitability," added Gupta. "It now expects the Note 9 smartphone to revive growth."

With respect to smartphone working frameworks , Google 's Android additionally expanded its lead over Apple's iOS in the second quarter of 2018, anchoring 88 percent piece of the pie to 11.9 percent share for iOS.

In any case, Gartners' cell phone report demonstrated uplifting news for the business in general, demonstrating that we are as yet purchasing cell phones like no one's busienss..

It expressed that offers of handsets over the world developed by two percent in the quarter, to an incredible 374 million units.
